Bio

Welcome to my Internet home. I am a freelance writer, activist, lawyer, and homeschooling mom of three in Canada's capital city.

I was born behind the Iron Curtain during the days of Communism, and as the Quebec license plate says: "Je me souviens."

Having escaped the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic as political refugees, my family found a home in the beautiful province of Alberta, where cowboy hats, trucks and oil sands are commonplace. For those who know what I am talking about, I was a fan of the Alberta Report.

I graduated from the United World College of the Atlantic, Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School. I have worked in "big law" in Manhattan and for public interest organizations in Ottawa and at the UN headquarters in New York.

These days, you are most likely to find me teaching the three Rs to squirmy little monkeys. I also enjoy cooking from scratch, juicing and growing backyard vegetables, reading and reviewing books, and exploring Ottawa and the surrounding areas.

My three employers.
